The idea of travelling sprouted from a young age, when our family holidays ventured beyond the boundaries of Kent, taking exciting boat and coach journeys all over the mountains, valleys and cities of Europe. I was then encouraged to join a youth newspaper as well as writing sports articles for the local football team – the thrill of primarily having my voice heard (albeit in the written form) and secondly seeing my own name in print inspired me to take on a degree in Journalism (graduating in 2004). Finding a job in journalism was tough so I relocated to London and became a Product Executive in a travel company. During my 4 year stay there I produced a number of articles for the company online magazine. I have now moved to Italy and am attempting to carve a way in the travel writing industry.
